NBC’s School Pride with Cheryl Hines

Feel good reality TV is making its move from helping just one person at a time to focusing on one of the greatest areas of need: Schools! With so many budget cuts too many schools are being neglected. Even the buildings that house the environment of education for hundreds of students for three fourths of the year are too often in need of repair, especially in lower income areas. NBC’s School Pride is making a difference.

In each episode a public school is completely renovated in just one week. With the help of the students, parents, teachers, and the entire community of volunteers, plus the show experts, they transform a dilapidated school into a source of community pride and educational inspiration. As NBC points out, “Studies show that beautiful schools result in higher scholastic achievement, and we’re putting that theory to the test.

”The season premiere of School Pride airs Friday, October 15th at 8/7c on NBC. What a great way to spend the school year watching School Pride as a family helping to remind children to take pride in their school and encouraging parents to get involved.
